Portrait of Kateřina Maršounová

Kateřina Maršounová, M.A., MSc., holds an MSc in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam, where she specialised in Persuasive Communication. Her academic work focused on persuasive techniques, decision-making and the ways media, messages and environments shape attitudes and behaviour. Earlier studies at the University of Aberdeen combined psychology with an Entrepreneurship major.

That academic foundation later informed lectures and executive education for senior leaders in new-media communication. In 2015, Kateřina founded Project Rehab® and went on to develop REHAB PAINTS®, a flexible 3D technology for textiles, leather and performance materials. Projects using the technology have included collaborations with global brands such as Samsung and Nike, with applications seen on Grand Slam courts, in elite sport and at the Olympic Games.

Since 2015, Kateřina has studied Buddhist psychology and practice under the guidance of a Buddhist monk in Thailand. That same year, she supported the expansion of the first International Meditation Centre on Koh Lanta; in 2025, she helped expand a second centre on Koh Samui. Annual periods of study continue to deepen a practice centred on meditation, conscious breathing, attention and observing thoughts without automatically identifying with them.

Sustained work across these fields brings together academic insight into human behaviour and influence, direct experience of building original ventures, and a long-term Buddhist practice of observing the mind.

Empty Box Theory™ integrates these perspectives into a structured framework for recognising acquired definitions and behavioural limits, examining how they shape present choices, and creating more space for conscious action.
